CBVA February 2025 Club Update

At CBVA, we pride ourselves on embodying the principles that make our club vibrant, inclusive, and inspiring to all. Here are some practical examples on how we can all live these values and be great ambassadors of beach volleyball in our community. 

Our Club was proud to host the 4th round of the NSW Youth Beach Volleyball Series this 1st February, bringing together talented young athletes for an exciting day of competition.

A huge congratulations to our Juniors for their fantastic performances on the sand!

Next stop for the juniors: Wollongong on 1st March. Best of luck to all competitors—we can’t wait to see you back in action!

What is your role and why do you like to be involved?

My role is around onboarding  new members, activities include: review of assessments, quiz, card and uniform distribution. I also add new members to our WhatsApp group, sometimes introduce a “buddy”, to ensure they get connected and play. I feel it’s great to be involved in a sport that we feel passionate about.

What has been your best beach volleyball experience?

Lots of great times when we are playing and travelling for tournaments with them.  

My best volleyball experience is around making great friends, playing with my kids that basically grew up while I have been in the club and most recently playing tournaments this season for the first time where I got 1st place twice in div 3.

Our members have been enjoying the tournament season over summer, and have done great at Volleyball NSW Beach Volleyball Tour, NBVA, and many others. Whether it’s someone’s 1st or 100th tournament, it has been great to see our members get into competitive spirit, support each other on court or on the sidelines. Well done to everyone playing!

I love playing in tournaments because I’ve always been a competitive person. It’s a great way for me to test my skills and see how much progress I’ve made. It’s exciting facing different teams, pushing myself to perform at my best and constantly working to improve. Tournaments keep me motivated and help me stay focused on my goals, both as a player and as part of this awesome volleyball community!

Martin:

I really like the vibes during the tournament spending time with friends and of course sharing emotions at court with my partners. Personally I really like training and working on things and later see how it works under tournament condition 🤟🏻👌🏻💪🏻🙏🏻
